I have so much to do this weekend! Tonight is Vegan Drinks at Cheer Up Charlies. I am excited to eat at Iggi’s Texitarian while I am there because somehow I still haven’t tried it.
It is supposed to be a great vegan food trailer and they have fried zucchini and buffalo wings on special!
Then I have to figure out what to make for Thanksgiving which will be a lot of fun because I love going through recipes. I will definitely be making the Miso Glazed Brussels Sprouts, because that is now a Thanksgiving tradition, along with mashed potatoes, cranberries, apple strudel, and stuffing. I also want to try one of Tofu & Sprouz’s Gravies but I might just go with my standard roux based gravy depending on the main dish. And that is the part I am having a hard time with. Last year I made seitan dumpling that we all loved.
but the year before that we had this fabulous seitan roulade that was beautiful and amazing.
I asked Mr. Smurf what he would prefer and he said “ooo those dumpings….or the roulade that was so good…or you could make something else” so that wasn’t very much help at all! Do you guys have any favorites?
I bet after all the Thanksgiving planning I am going to have to go back to Counter Culture Saturday (and maybe Sunday) for the Thanksgiving sandwich, it only happens once a year!
I am so excited because this is one of the best weeks of the year, plus it is getting cold enough that the dogs are demanding to wear their sweaters and next week is a three day work week! Do you all have exciting weekend plans?
Now I want to celebrate Thanksgiving, too!
I am glad to hear that this is an awesome week!
Snice in NYC had a seasonal Thanksgiving sandwich that was the best thing ever. I am missing it.
I’m not 100%, but I think Sue also did the Holiday sandwich around Christmas last year, and I think she plans on doing the same again this year. But I could be wrong.
Tomorrow we’re having Thanksgiving with the Turkeys @ Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary! It is the best day of the year for me. 🙂 There is a massive vegan potluck and plenty of animals to meet. Real Thanksgiving can’t come close. However, I only have 2 days of work next week, then a 5-day weekend, so real Thanksgiving can stay. Ours will be small this year, which means I may have an easier time force-feeding our tablemates my delicious vegan dishes. My goal is to fill them up quickly so they’ll forget about the turkey.
I’m trying out the seitan en croute from 500 Vegan Recipes tonight. I’ll let you know if it should be a contender!
I am drooling. Those brussel sprouts look amazing. Thanks for sharing the recipe I think I will be making them soon. And the sandwich mmmm. Can’t wait to hear what you’ve decided to make.
I want a Thanksgiving sandwich in my mouth right now! And I demand a picture of the dogs in their sweaters! I have no idea what I’m making for TG either…must figure this out. As much as I like to cook, I don’t like to have to cook
Your Thanksgiving meal sounds great. I might try the Brussels sprouts too! I’m not sure what to make as a main, so I can’t help you out other than to say the dumplings look awesome!
