If I ran the Alamo Drafthouse…

Austin Texas has what many people consider to be the greatest movie theater in the world. The Alamo Drafthouse isn’t just a place where you can enjoy beer and cocktails brought to you while you watch the latest blockbuster. It is also a place where you can sing along with the Buffy musical, watch comedians heckle star trek episodes while ultimately finding out who is better Kirk or Picard, ride in a canoe to watch Deliverance, or see all four tracks the Flaming Lips Zaireeka surrounded by 4 different screens with movies made to go along.

Many things on the menu of movie based titles like A Royale with Chesse or My Big Fat Greek Pizza. The only problem is that out of their MASSIVE menu of appetizers, entrée, salads, burgers, pizzas, and desserts very few of the options are vegan. I go there a lot and I think about what I wish was on the menu. This is my menu (with links!!!) to recipes from all over the veganblogosphere that I would try. What would you serve at a movie theater?

Such a clever post & idea! I unfortunately avoid awesome places like the Alamo Drafthouse because the menu is so bad. If they would put any of what you suggested on their menu I would begin showing up!

HOLY MOLY! There are just so many things on that menu that tempt me… especially that taco salad, Reuben and crab cakes. 🙂

Hell mothafuckin yes! This is one of the coolest blogs I’ve ever, ever seen. I never made it to Austin’s drafthouse. I was bummed when I heard I missed the Buffy musical by one freaking day.

My only memory of San Antonio’s drafthouse is the time the husband and I bought a bucket of 5 Red Stripes (years ago) and shattered three of them because the damn bottle opener sucked.
